Michael Nyman: The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, chamber opera
The plot concerns the condition of a singer who suffers from visual agnosia, or the loss of the ability to recognize objects. It is based upon a case study of the same name by neurologist Oliver Sacks. Dr. Sacks will present at 20-minute talkback discussing the work immediately following the March 10 performance. This opera is part of the InCite Arts Festival in New York.
